Exposed Aggregate is a process when the top layer of the concrete is washed off to show the stones within the concrete mix. The exposed aggregate is a process involving laying the exposed mix, then an application of a retarder is applied to stop the top layer setting. The top layer is washed off, exposing the stones to give a natural yet highly durable product. There is then a cleaning process where the stones and concrete are washed off and usually, a sealer is applied. Colour may be added to the concrete to provide a different background colour and different stone mixes are available to enable you to match your dream driveway to the surrounding property look. Imprint concrete is where a pattern is stamped into the top of the concrete.
